KNAW presents Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award (€ 100,000)

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites nominations for the Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award, formerly known as the Pinedo Cancer Care Prize. Deadline to nominate a candidate or a team of candidates is May 22, 2016. The award is a prestigious biennial award for internationally acclaimed researchers in cancer care. The prize consists of € 100,000 and a bronze sculpture. 
 
The winner, who will be announced in the autumn of 2016, will use the prize money to finance (or co-finance) a research project at his/her discretion, on the condition that the research is being conducted in his/her area of specialisation. The award will be presented for the first time in December 2016 and thereafter every other year.
 
The award is offered by the Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award Foundation. Since 2016, the Foundation has entrusted the selection of the award winner to the KNAW.
