First 2015 deadline IDFA Bertha Fund for documentary filmmakers and festivals published

The IDFA Bertha Fund, formerly known as the Jan Vrijman Fund, supports documentary filmmakers and festivals in developing countries. Its goal is to stimulate local film cultures and to turn the creative documentary into a truly global film art. The next submission deadline is February 1, 2015. Applications can be submitted in the categories Project development, Production and Post-Production.

The maximum contributions are: € 5,000 for Project development, € 17,500 for Production and also € 17,500 for Post-production.

Applications for documentary festivals are not accepted in 2014. The Fund hopes to reopen this category in 2015. If the category is open in 2015, the fund is looking for festivals which make it their goal to promote the documentary film genre and act as a meeting place for local filmmakers and audiences.
