New call Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) research programme launched

NWO-WOTRO has launched a new call of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) research programme. Deadline for submitting pre-proposals is October 13, 2016. The SRHR programme aims to generate insights in and a better understanding of processes that determine and strengthen the sexual and reproductive health of people, as well as their ability to claim their sexual and reproductive rights. The current call focuses on Jordan. The call has been developed in close collaboration with the Knowledge Platform Share-Net International and solicits proposals for research to be carried out in Jordan. The research funded should yield new knowledge and insights and contribute to improving and innovating SRHR policies and practices. Potential fields of interest, are:

Improved understanding of young people’s realities, enabling factors and barriers to SRHR information and services;
Improved access to information, including awareness campaigns and sexual education, and quality health and social services, especially for women across the different age groups and vulnerable groups such as communities in remote areas, refugees and people with disabilities;
Informed choices and decision-making processes related to SRHR.

Projects preferably focus on young people and women.
 
Applications can be submitted by international consortia, with at least one Jordan member, consisting of research institutions and preferably practitioner organisation(s) (e.g. governmental departments, NGOs, private enterprises, including international organisations). 
The budget available is approximately € 1.6 million. Funding per project is up to € 170,000 for a project duration of 12 months, € 255,000 for a project duration of 18 months and € 340,000 for a project with a maximum duration of 24 months.
 
The deadline for submitting a full proposal is February 21, 2017.
