Two projects awarded in NWO License to Operate

The division of Earth and Life Sciences (ALW) of NWO has funded two projects with a grant from the programme License to Operate. NWO received a total of six proposals. A consortium of researchers and private partners could apply for funding for research that provides the basis for a License to Operate for maritime and offshore operations, wet projects in hydraulic engineering and the applications of water technology. The total budget of the call is € 3.5 million.

The awarded projects are the following:
• SANDBOX? Smart and sustainable design for offshore operations in a sandy seabed -
Prof. dr. S.J.M.H. Hulscher, UT;
• New peroxide applications for prolonged reduction of cyanobacterial dominance in freshwater lakes -
Dr. J.C.P. Matthijs, UvA.
