Venture Challenge for starters in Life Sciences

Venture Challenge is looking for starting companies in the Life Sciences who want to receive coaching and advice on essential elements of setting up a business, thereby paving the way for future success. The submission deadline is September 12, 2014.

The Venture Challenge is a ‘must-do’ opportunity for all aspiring Life Sciences entrepreneurs. In two 3-day workshops, the facilitators and other ‘competing’ teams will challenge you to focus your business idea to create optimal customer value, and you will learn to pitch your business case. At the end of the Challenge, the team with the best venture plan and pitch is awarded € 25,000. Each team should consist of three or more team members, with at least one who is passionate about pushing the proposal forward.

The challenge consists of three stages and takes around five months from start to finish. The three stages are Pre-Screening, Venture Proposal Stage and finally the Venture Plan Stage. This final phase consists of two 3-day workshop sessions and a venture plan evaluation. With tailor-made workshops and coaching, the participant and the other teams invited will work on producing a Venture Plan that comprises enough technical and commercial detail to justify a presentation to potential customers, seed investors and/or any other finance organisations. During the workshops seasoned entrepreneurs and venture capitalists are involved, providing expert input and hands-on coaching on specific topics. After the workshops the participants will present the Pitch to the Venture Challenge jury, consisting of several entrepreneurs and investors, which will then decide who wins the amount of € 25,000.
