Second Call ERANID open for applications

The European Research Area Network on Illicit Drugs (ERANID) invites applications for its second joint call 'Society and responses to drug use'. Deadline of submissions is October 18, 2016. ZonMw participates as the Dutch funding organisation with an initial budget of € 700,000. Funding for Dutch applicants is up to € 175,000.ERANID is an ERA-NET scheme which consists of nine organisations in six different EU Member States. Besides The Netherlands, these are Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal and United Kingdom. The network aims to improve cooperation in drug research in order to allow well-founded policy decisions. This second and final transnational call for proposals in the frame of the ERANID project is dedicated to society and responses to drug use. This topic examines some of the areas of the SRA not yet covered and builds on national priorities of the participating countries. It follows and complements the focus of the first joint call on understanding drug use pathways.

ERANID wishes in particular to fund research that explores the impact of drug policies on society and the importance of the social environment in pathways to recovery and socioeconomic reintegration. For both topics, researchers will exploit the transnational aspect of this call (e.g. via comparative analysis) and its European coverage (e.g. through methodological advancements, the development of common metrics...).
