Four projects awarded in NWO New Netherlands Polar Programme

The division of Earth and Life Sciences (ALW) of NWO has funded four projects with a grant in the first round of 2014 in the New Netherlands Polar Programme. The programme aims to encourage high-quality scientific research in and into the polar regions. The grant round aims specifically at optimal usage of the Dirck Gerritsz Laboratory in Antarctica.

Research proposals need to fall in one of the four themes from the Masterplan Poolposition-NL:
• Ice, climate sea level;
• Polar Oceans;
• Polar ecosystems;
• Humanities and changes in polar regions.
