Third call Food & Business Applied Research Fund (ARF) open for applications
NWO WOTRO invites applications for the Applied Research Fund (ARF) for the third call. Proposals can be submitted continuously, until the final deadline of 6 December 2016. Proposals will be collected and assessed in two different rounds, with a deadline on 5 July 2016 and 6 December 2016.The fund is open for applications by consortia consisting of at least one practitioner organisation (i.e. companies, NGOS, governmental organisations) from a partner country and one research or higher education organisation. One Dutch partner is required. In case the organisation/company is not a local branch of a Dutch partner or the research organisation is not from the Netherlands, a third co-applicant is required, that is from The Netherlands. This can be a private or public practitioner organisation or a research organisation.
The maximum available budget per project is € 50,000 for a minimum duration of six months and € 300,000 for a project with a maximum duration of 36 months. In cash or in kind co-funding of 20% from private practitioner organisations or local and international research organisation is required. In this call, fifteen projects can be granted.
ARF aims at promoting research supported innovations that are readily applicable and contribute to the enhancement of sustainable food security for the most vulnerable populations in the fifteen partner countries of Dutch development cooperation: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Yemen.
In this call it is also possible to submit a proposal with a different focus on Bangladesh and Kenya. Four projects will be granted within this specific scheme (two for each country).
