Joint programme NWO and Guangdong Province open: Chemistry of Advanced Materials

NWO and Guangdong Science & Technology Commission (GDST) in China invite applications for support of projects in the field of Advanced Materials. Consortiums consisting of a Dutch research group, a Chinese research group, one or more companies based in the Netherlands, and one or more companies based in China may apply. Deadline for submitting proposals is June 28, 2016. The emphasis should be on research into the innovative application of materials or the application of innovative materials. 
 
The budget available for Dutch applicants is € 3,360,000. Per project a fixed budget of € 530,000 is available for its execution, of which € 250,000 is contributed (in cash) by the participating compan(y/ies) based in the Netherlands. 
 
The Government of Guangdong Province and NWO initiate their cooperation with the aims to:

Promote economic growth through strategic international innovation cooperation;
To explore ways to improve collaboration between industrial, academic and government parties from Guangdong Province and the Netherlands;
To support and accelerate innovation in the field of Chemistry of Advanced Materials;
Initiate joint science industry cooperation projects of mutual interest;
To lay the foundations of a Sino-Dutch community in Advanced Materials, with the participation of industrial, academic and government parties.

The Guangdong-NWO programme is closely related to a joint programme of the National Natural Science Foundation China (NSFC) and NWO.
