NWO funds € 4.9 million in Food, Cognition and Behaviour

NWO has funded € 4.9 million to nine projects in the programme Food, Cognition and Behaviour. The funding instrument is intended for research into interactions between nutrition and humans: about healthy choices and healthy eating behaviour, and about the effects of nutrition on cognitive health. It is a joint initiative of the National Initiative Brain & Cognition (NIHC), the Medical Sciences division (ZonMw), the Earth and Life Sciences division (ALW) and the Social Sciences division (MaGW).

The nine projects have a duration of 18 months to five years and range from € 0.1 to € 1.4 million per project. Within the projects scientists from research institutes work together with private partners from the food industry. The partners outside the finance half of the science research.
