KNAW De la Court-Prize 2017 open for nominations

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites nominations for its De la Court-Prize. The deadline to nominate is September 15, 2016. The prize is awarded every other year to an individual for conducting research without financial reward, for example a large body of work, life achievement or outstanding accomplishment in the humanities or social sciences. It consists of a silver medal and a monetary award of € 7,500.Candidates must be nominated for the De la Court-Prize by researchers working at a university or research institute or by a professional academic publisher. 
 
Pieter and Johan de la Court were influential tradesmen in seventeenth-century Leiden. The Johan de la Court Prize and the Pieter de la Court Prize were established in 1985. In 1999 they were merged into the De la Court-Prize.
