European Commission published 2014 CEF Transport Calls for Proposals today
€ 11.93 billion has been allocated for the 2014 CEF Transport Call, based on the Multi-Annual and Annual Work Programmes which were adopted on 26 March 2014. The 2014 CEF Transport Calls for Proposals are the first calls under the CEF in the area of transport. CEF Transport is the successor programme to TEN-T. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 26 February 2015.
The European Commission, Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport launches four calls for proposals, under the multi-annual work programme for the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) for the period 2014-2020, in order to award grants to the following funding objectives:
• Funding Objective 1: Removing bottlenecks and bridging missing links, enhancing rail interoperability, and, in particular, improving cross-border sections - the indicative amount available for the selected proposals is € 5 954,786 million;
• Funding Objective 2: Ensuring sustainable and efficient transport systems in the long run, with a view to preparing for expected future transport flows, as well as enabling all modes of transport to be decarbonised through transition to innovative low-carbon and energy-efficient transport technologies, while optimising safety - the indicative amount available for the selected proposals is € 249 million;
• Funding Objective 3: Optimising the integration and interconnection of transport modes and enhancing the interoperability of transport services, while ensuring the accessibility of transport infrastructures - the indicative amount available for the selected proposals is € 731,24 million;
• Funding Objective 4: Cohesion Fund allocation - the indicative amount available for the selected proposals is € 3 984,08 million.
