New Horizon 2020 calls launched

The European Commission has launched new calls for projects under the programme Horizon 2020 - EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The calls are published under the main pillars Industrial Leadership (two Ecsel calls) and Societal Challenges, among which a Clean Sky call and an IMI call, and all part of the Joint Technology Initiatives (JTI).

The calls are the following:
• Clean Sky 2 Call for Core Partners Wave 1 - H2020-CS2-CPW01-2014-01: Deadline of submission is October 15, 2014. The budget is € 206,000,000;
• FCH2 JU Call for Proposals 2014 - H2020-JTI-FCH-2014-11: Deadline of submission is November 6, 2014. The budget is € 93,000,000; 
• IMI2 1ST Call for Proposals 2014 H2020-JTI-IMI2-2014-01: Deadline of submission is November 12, 2014. The budget is € 49,260,000;
• ECSEL CALL 2014-2 Innovation Actions - ECSEL-2014-2: Deadline of submission is September 17, 2014. The budget is € 190,000,000;
• ECSEL CALL 2014-1 Innovation Actions - ECSEL-2014-1: Deadline of submission is September 17, 2014. The budget is € 80,000,000; 
• Bio Based Industries PPP - H2020-BBI-PPP-2014-1: Deadline of submission is October 15, 2014. The budget is € 50,000,000;

Horizon 2020 is the successor of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). The budget is € 80 billion for the 7 years duration of the programme. Organisations that are involved in research, technological development, and innovation on an international scale and individual researchers can participate in the programme.
