Four projects awarded in NWO Top Grants Chemical Sciences

The division of Chemical Sciences (CW) of NWO has awarded four researchers with a grant from the Top Grants Chemical Sciences Programme for a total amount of € 8 million. TOP Grants Chemical Sciences are for excellent, established research groups with a clear chemical, biochemical or chemical-technological reputation. The research group can use the grant to strengthen or renew challenging and innovative lines of research.

The awarded projects are the following:
• Prof. dr. W.T.S. Huck (RU), prof. dr. B. Poolman (RUG) and prof. dr. C. Dekker (TUD), Complex enzymatic networks for the bottom-up construction of a synthetic cell;
• Prof. dr. R. Leurs (VU) and prof. dr. M.J. Smit (VU), 7 ways to 7TMR modulation (7-to-7);
• Prof. dr. E.W. Meijer (TU/e) and prof. dr. D.J. Broer (TU/e), Polymers in motion;
• Prof. dr. H.S. Overkleeft (UL), prof. dr. J.M.F.G. Aerts (UL) and prof. dr. H. Ovaa (NKI), Exploring and exploiting activity-based protein profiling in chemical biology and medicinal chemistry.
