Extended deadline for NIAS-Lorentz Theme Groups 2017/2018 call

The deadline for submitting pre-proposals for the NIAS-Lorentz Theme Group (NLTG) has been extended from March 1 to March 15, 2017. The NIAS-Lorentz Group invites applications from researchers who want to set up and coordinate a NLTG. A NLTG is an international group of up to five researchers who work together at NIAS as a team on a research topic that bridges the Humanities and/or Social Sciences with the Natural Sciences and/or Technology.

All NLTG members hold fellowships at NIAS giving them the opportunity to engage in the kind of intensive interdisciplinary collaboration that is often difficult to realize in a normal university setting. This can lead to concrete outcomes such as an edited volume, a scientific paper or a project proposal for external funding (e.g. ERC).

The NIAS-Lorentz Group offers:

• 3 or 5 month residential fellowships at the NIAS including stipends or teaching replacement grants;
• 1-week Lorentz Center workshop;
• organizational support by NIAS & Lorentz Center.

The deadline to submit a full proposal is May 15, 2017.
