Second round Antibiotic Resistance open for proposals

ZonMw invites applications for the second round of the programme Antibiotic Resistance. Deadline of submissions is April 4, 2017. The programme funds research designed to help fight antibiotic resistance and/or identify points of action for the development of new antibiotics or interventions. The ambition is to reduce antibiotic resistance within 5 years following publication of project results. The budget available for this round is € 2.8 million. Funding is up to € 500,000 per project.

The aim of the call is to know more about what contributes to or hinders reduction and/or prevention of antibiotic resistance according to:

• Mechanisms for acquiring and transmitting antibacterial resistance in different environments e.g., patients, hospitals, farms, nature, etc,.
• Appropriate (use of) diagnostics
• Optimising antibiotic dosage and prudent use

Social and behavioural sciences and/or contribute to a One Health approach are essential.
