Diabetes - new EFSD grants for 2017 (€ 400,000)
The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) has published new funding opportunities in 2017. Deadlines are in July and September. Grants are up to € 400,000. EFSD offers support in all areas of diabetes research through a wide range of joint initiatives and stand-alone initiatives. Funding is available throughout the year.
The calls are the following:
- European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) and JDRF and Lilly European Programme in Type 1 Diabetes Research: Research will be supported through the award of grants, each of up to € 100,000. The duration of each award may be one year or longer, depending upon the needs of the project and as justified in the application. Applicants who have a funding requirement larger than that specified above are also invited to apply to this Programme, particularly if this relates to a clinical research project: in this case, the relevant financial requirements not exceeding € 400,000 should be indicated and well justified in the budget section of the application form for special consideration by the review committee. Deadline of submission is July 1, 2017;
- European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) and Japan Diabetes Society (JDS) Reciprocal Travel Research Fellowship Programme: Up to four Fellowships each of up to € 50,000 available. Deadline of submission is July 1, 2017;
- European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) and Lilly European Diabetes Research Programme: Research will be supported through the award of grants, each of up to € 100,000. The duration of each award may be one year or longer, depending upon the needs of the project and as justified in the application. Applicants who have a funding requirement larger than € 100,000 are also invited to apply to this Programme, particularly if this relates to a clinical research project. In this case, the relevant financial requirements should be indicated and clearly justified in the budget section of the application form. Deadline of submission is September 1, 2017;
- Albert Renold Travel Fellowships supported by Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD): Each Fellowship will be for up to € 8,000. Available throughout the year.
